Session Overview: Despite the wide variety in contraceptive options, people in the United States continue to experience barriers to accessing contraception. These barriers include financial difficulties, legislative restrictions, and limited clinic options with providers who only offer certain methods. In addition, according to compiled data, 19 million people with uteri in the United States live in a place where they lack reasonable access to a health center that offers the full range of contraceptive methods, often referred to as a contraceptive desert. One of the many ways providers are advocating for expanded access to comprehensive reproductive health care is through pharmacist initiated birth control. Join us for an informative webinar tailored specifically for nurses, where we delve into the essential role pharmacists play in initiating birth control. In this session, we will explore the latest advancements in pharmacist-initiated birth control services and how nurses can collaborate effectively with pharmacists to enhance patient care.
